The National Organization of Rheumatology Managers (NORM) is a relatively young organization comprised of members involved daily in the care of patients with rheumatologic disorders. Our membership spans the entire country with representation in almost every state of the union. NORM is a subsidiary of the Coalition of State Rheumatology Organizations (CSRO).

In September, 2005, our group met for the first time, the only known organization dedicated solely to rheumatology managers. That meeting was attended by more than 50 rheumatology managers and physicians; the National Organization of Rheumatology Managers was born as a result of that gathering. Since then, our organization has experienced a steady, unparalleled growth with conference attendance increasing from that 50 in 2005 to over 160 in 2010.

As we have grown, NORM has become increasingly attentive to the needs of our membership, adding an array of requested topics and speakers to our conference agendas. In addition, our conferences now include a number of breakout sessions in response to our member requests.

In answer to our member demand, NORM has implemented a ListServ which has been well received and remains extremely active. This ListServ provides a wealth of information and opinions related to an ever-growing number of topics. This has proven to be an invaluable tool to assist our members with the many daily challenges of their positions.

NORM provides rheumatology practice managers, administrators and managing physicians countless opportunities to network with colleagues through its ListServ and annual conferences. The varying levels of experience among our many members along with the diverse sizes and services of the practices they represent offer a myriad of benefits to the overall membership.

We are proud of where we have been and prouder still of where we have yet to go. Come and share the excitement of membership in the National Organization of Rheumatology Managers!
